New Bettembourg facility will accelerate network deployment, improve supply chain resilience and support Vodafone’s 5G and fibre expansion across European markets.

Vodafone Procure & Connect today opened its pan-European logistics hub in Bettembourg, Luxembourg, strengthening Vodafone’s supply chain capabilities and supporting the deployment and maintenance of network infrastructure across Europe.

The facility will support the storage and serve as a central distribution hub for critical telecoms equipment including mobile, fibre and fixed network infrastructure. Located in Bettembourg’s logistics park, the hub benefits from Luxembourg’s strong transport links and strategic location. From this central position in Europe, Vodafone can reach all of its European markets within 24 hours, supporting the timely availability of equipment for network upgrades and new deployments.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by H.R.H. the Grand Duke of Luxembourg, Lex Delles, Minister for the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, Jean-Marie Jans, Mayor of Bettembourg, Jean-François van Boxmeer, Chair of Vodafone Group Plc and Ninian Wilson, CEO of Vodafone Procure & Connect, alongside Vodafone Group leadership and global technology partners.

Lex Delles, Minister for the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, said: “Vodafone’s decision to establish its pan-European logistics hub in Luxembourg shows once again that the country plays a significant role within the European value chain. This investment demonstrates the robustness of Luxembourg’s logistics ecosystem and its strategic location at the heart of Europe, as well as the country’s capacity to host international groups managing complex operations across the continent. This step will thereby support the company’s business development projects and long-term growth in the country.”

Ninian Wilson, Global Supply Chain Director and CEO at Vodafone Procure & Connect, said: “The opening of this new logistics hub marks a significant step in the continued evolution of Vodafone’s supply chain operations. Operating from the heart of Europe in Luxembourg strengthens our supply chain resilience, improves efficiency and effectiveness, and creates a capability that can support the wider telecommunications ecosystem.”

The facility has been designed with sustainability in mind and is targeting BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ certification, placing it among the highest-rated sustainable logistics facilities in Europe.
