What if solar energy produced on a rooftop in the north of Luxembourg could, the same day, power a home office in the south? With Voltizy Community, Group Marth launches a renewable energy community in the form of a cooperative, aiming to democratize the sharing of 100% green, local, and fair electricity.

With several decades of expertise in energy management, real consumption billing, and support for residences and businesses, Group Marth is taking the next step. Through Voltizy Community, it offers a structured, transparent, and turnkey model to connect renewable energy producers and consumers nationwide.

A practical response to rising energy costs

In a context of price volatility and climate urgency, Voltizy Community provides a pragmatic solution.
Already engaged in the energy transition (with a Class A building, photovoltaic installations, and a 100% electric vehicle fleet), Group Marth leverages its experience to meet a growing need: better valorizing locally produced energy.

The goal is clear: enable citizens, businesses, municipalities, and co-ownerships to produce, consume, and share renewable energy while reducing their bills and speeding up the return on investment for their photovoltaic installations.

A simple model… already proven in Europe

The principle is based on pooling electricity from renewable sources, primarily photovoltaics.
Concretely, a producer who does not consume all their energy (for example, during the day) can share it with other community members who need it at the same time.

Widely developed in Europe, with more than 8,000 energy communities identified, this model helps reduce energy dependence and fight energy poverty. Voltizy Community acts as the organizer of this sharing, continuously optimizing the balance between production and consumption. In case of shortage (nighttime, unfavorable weather), members naturally continue to source energy from their usual supplier.

Patrick Marth, CEO, shares the idea behind the creation of the community: « Having photovoltaic panels on both my home and company buildings, I noticed, while analyzing production data, that part of the energy produced during the day, when I am not at home, could have powered the building where I work. Instead, it is fed back into the national grid for almost nothing. Yet I invested in this installation, and the ROI was not as fruitful as expected. So why not create a renewable energy community that allows surplus production to be shared nationwide with other members, at a more advantageous rate? »

Supporting co-ownerships and property managers

Historically central to Group Marth’s focus, co-ownerships play a key role in this initiative. Voltizy Community facilitates the implementation of collective self-consumption within residences equipped with photovoltaic panels.

By joining as members, residents can consume electricity produced on-site while also benefiting from the community’s shared supply if necessary. All technical and administrative processes are fully handled, providing a turnkey solution for property managers and owners.

Rudy Kech, co-CEO, explains further: « When installing photovoltaic panels in a co-ownership, it’s important to know that they only power the common areas (hallway lighting, elevators…). Self-consumption is relatively low, as these are not high-consumption points. Apartment meters can only be supplied if a collective self-consumption system is set up. This is where our expertise and knowledge of collective housing make a difference. We assist property managers and co-owners in setting up this system and automatically integrate them into our energy community, which operates across Luxembourg. To ease the workload for managers, we handle all administrative tasks, metering, and billing. “

A more human vision of energy

Beyond technology, Voltizy Community is first and foremost a collective initiative. Born from discussions among citizens, energy experts, and local actors, it aims to make renewable energy accessible to as many people as possible. By bringing together producers and consumers within a cooperative model, Voltizy Community embodies a new way of consuming energy: local, shared, responsible, and forward-looking.
